Nathanael John Hochstedler, 19, of LaGrange, Indiana, formerly of Kalona, died on Sunday, July 4, 2021, following a drowning accident in Sturgeon Lake, Colon, Michigan.
He was born on Dec. 18, 2001, in Kalona, to Paul and Emma (Schwartz) Hochstedler. Surviving are 10 siblings: Ada Elizabeth Hochstedler, Mary Emma (LaWayne) Miller, Ollie Anna (Andrew) Yoder, Lydia Ruth (Clifford) Miller all of Kalona, Hannah Rose (Kenneth) Miller of Ava, Illinois, Benjamin Lloyd Hochstedler of LaGrange, Indiana, Paul Samuel Hochstedler, David Adam Hochstedler, Naomi Louise (special friend, Nevin Yoder) Hochstedler, Sarah Joann Hochstedler all of Kalona; 14 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: David Y. and Ada (Hilty) Schwartz Shetler and Sylvan and Ollie (Gingerich) Hochstedler.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 2 - 8 p.m. and Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 9 a.m to 8 p.m. at the family residence, 5679 Highway 1 SW, Kalona, IA. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021, also at the family residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Elmer T. Miller. Burial will be in North Gingerich Cemetery, Kalona.
