Molly Roberts is the news editor of The News. As news editor, she is the primary writer and photographer, covering a wide variety of events and stories in the communities covered by The News.
Originally from Grand Rapids, Mich., Molly Roberts moved to Iowa City to attend the University of Iowa in 2010, where she studied journalism and English. While Roberts has a background in journalism, including a stint at the sports editor for The Daily Iowan, she is also an avid writer of fiction and is currently hard at work on her first novel and a collection of short stories.
“What I love about writing of all kinds is the ability to tell stories about people and for people,” Roberts said. “I find so much value in talking with strangers and digging out the unique thing they have to tell the world. We can learn so much from each other if we are willing to listen to voices other than our own.”
