Leo A. Kron, 59, of Iowa City, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at his home in Iowa City. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Riverside. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hills. Following services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the St. Joseph Church Hall. A private family burial will be held in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Leo. Leo Ambrose Kron was born on January 19, 1965, in San Jose, California, the son of Joseph and Roberta (Jenn) Kron. He was a 1983 graduate of Highland High School. Leo worked for Sheller-Globe Corporation in Iowa City and then was the storekeeper at the University of Iowa Hospital for 20 plus years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hills. Leo enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, auto body work on cars, remodeling the old farm house, playing cards, vacationing with family, driving around the countryside in his red Jeep with his dog, Bandit and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball fan.
Leo will be deeply missed by his son, Austin Kron of Riverside.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents.
