FORMAL MEETING MINUTES
APRIL 17, 2024
Chairperson Sullivan called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Health and Human Services Boardroom at 5:31 p.m. Members present: V Fixmer-Oraiz, Jon Green, Lisa Green-Douglass, Royceann Porter, and Rod Sullivan.
Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken unanimously.

Convened Public Hearing at 5:31 p.m. on the Johnson County Budget Estimate for Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25), in accordance with Section 331.434 of the Iowa Code. Finance Director Dana Aschenbrenner provided budget highlights, information about historical taxable value growth, tax increment financing bonding and debt strategy, and estimated FY25 property tax bills for select districts. Residents Ninoska Campos, Angel Soto, Karen Reyes, Petra Mujica, and Julio Salinas shared their experiences living in Johnson County and concerns with recent anti-immigrant state legislation. They requested the Board dedicate additional funding to immigrant services, affordable housing, protective status for immigrants, legal services, children with disabilities, and health services.
