Kalona’s Jack O’ Lantern Jaunt a fun-filled first

The Jack O’ Lantern Jaunt at the Kalona Historical Village on October 28th was a fun-filled time for all who showed up. Parents along with their costumed kiddos enjoyed the festivities the jaunt provided. There was candy, a bounce house, fun decorations, and even a movie playing for the children at the event. This was the first year for the Jack O’ Lantern Jaunt, and the turnout was a good one.

“We really had no idea what to expect, but I think overall we were pleased with how many showed up, and everybody seemed to have a good time,” Managing Director Nancy Roth said about the event. “You never know sometimes when doing things for the first time, but I think things went really well.”

Area businesses participated by decorating the Village’s buildings, dressing up, and handing out candy.

“Different businesses did different themes, and they weren’t necessarily scary,” Roth noted.  “People with little kids could come and I think they had fun doing that. I think it turned out great.”
