Glenn Ira Bender, 83, of Humboldt, Nebraska, peacefully passed away on May 5, 2024, at his rural home in Humboldt.
He was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma, on August 21, 1940, son of Henry E and Irene (Nissley) Bender.
Glenn was the husband of Anna (Borntrager) Bender, who passed away Feb. 7, 2021, after 59 years of marriage. On April 22, 2023, Glenn married Darlene (Marner) Kauffman and together they celebrated one year of marriage.
Glenn will be lovingly missed by two daughters and seven sons: Mattie (Samuel) Kauffman of Gordonville Pennsylvania, Miriam (Leonard) Zimmerman of Middlebury, Indiana, Nelson Bender, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, married to Kathy of Ronks, Pennsylvania, Merlyn (Lois) Bender of Humboldt, Nebraska, Martin (Kristy) Bender of Knob Noster, Missouri, Dwight (Rachel) Bender of Knob Noster, Missouri, Marcus (Janet) Bender of Halsey, Oregon, Everett (Ruth) Bender of Auburn, Nebraska, and Roger (Rhonda) Bender of Gordonville, Pennsylvania; two stepsons and two stepdaughters: Allen (Naomi) Kauffman of Iva, South Carolina, Philip (Elizabeth) Kauffman of Thompson Falls, Montana, Lydia (Kevin) Yoder of LaVale, Maryland, and Edna Wagler of Swansboro, North Carolina; 37 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; 16 step grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild; three sisters and two brothers: Freda Kauffman of Bevier Missouri, Treva (Clarence) Yoder of Spencer, Wisconsin, Mary Ellen (Albert) Yoder of Kalona, David (Magdalena) Bender of Aylmer, Ontario, and Perry Bender of Kalona.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife: Anna Bender; sister: Barbara and husband Adin C Miller; brother-in-law: Cephas Kauffman; and sister-in-law: Verna Bender.
