PUBLIC NOTICE
The Washington County Board of Supervisors has received a construction permit application for a confinement feeding operation, specifically described as follows:
Name of Applicant: Prairie Pork, Inc.
Name of operation: Kiwi Site
Location of the operation: Section 23, Township 76-N, Range 8-W, Cedar Township
Construction of two 101’ 10” x 193’1” swine finishing facilities each with 8’ deep below-building concrete pits
Upon project completion the combined capacity of the two buildings will be a maximum of 4,800 wean finish swine
Total proposed Animal Unit Capacity after completion of construction will be 1,920 animal units.
The application and plan will be available for review by the public through Monday, May 15, 2023, in the office of the Washington County Auditor which is located in the Washington County Courthouse, 222 W. Main, Washington, IA., during weekday hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, the Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on this matter at 9:00 a.m. in the Board’s chambers located in the Washington County Courthouse, 222 W. Main, Washington, IA. Public comments may be delivered to the Board of Supervisors at the hearing or to the office of the County Auditor, 222 W. Main, Washington, IA., no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023.
