During the Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting on October 6, they proclaimed October as Domestic violence Awareness month, noting that in the last year, there have been 85 cases confirmed in the county. The continued involvement of county agencies in the prevention of domestic violence has been a collaborative effort for more than 47 years in the county.
The board approved a wage increase from $26.56 to $30 an hour for Margaret Englert, collections coordinator for the county attorney office.
They also acknowledged a proposal from Dynamic Infrastructure to be a virtual assistant engineer for the county at $20,300 monthly. The proposal would provide inspections for services from the company, which has been in operation since 2019 and is in 15 states. The board indicted they would review the proposal at a future meeting.
The board later noted that the services provided by the county engineer and his staff have been regularly meeting the county`s needs.
