Marie Yoder claimed a podium placement while the Hillcrest boys took second as a team at the Centerville Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday, September 29.
For the girls, Yoder finished third with a time of 24:17 while Amelia Vigneron finished 41st with a time of 36:32.
On the boys’ side, Troy Yoder finished fifth to lead the Ravens with a time of 19:58. Calvin Meller joined Yoder in the top 10 with an eighth-place finish, while Braden Hartsock followed closely in 13th. Jaxson Brokaw’s 22nd place finish and Isaac Beachy’s 38th place finish rounded out the scoring, as Hillcrest finished in 2nd with 70 points. Chariton dominated the meet, claiming the top three spots and placing all scorers in the top ten. Their 20 points were just five over the minimum possible score of 15.
Originally scheduled for Monday, Hillcrest’s home invitational was rescheduled to Tuesday, October 6 due to the recent rains.
Lone Tree and Highland’s scheduled meets at Winfield-Mt. Union and Washington were both cancelled due to the weather.
