PUBLIC NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAXPAYER NOTIFICATION
STATEMENT MAILING
To the residents of Johnson County, Iowa: A recent law change requires county auditors to mail a statement to property taxpayers by March 20, 2024. (Iowa Code 24.2A) The statement will include state-specified information related to proposed city, school and county government budgets and proposed property tax rates. This is for taxes payable in September 2024 and March 2025. This is not a property tax bill. The purpose of the statement is to provide the taxpayers with data in time to address the proposals at public hearings before budgets are approved.
