NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON LOAN AGREEMENT
IN A PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $2,420,000
(GENERAL OBLIGATION)

The Board of Supervisors of Washington County, Iowa, will meet on April 2, 2024 in the basement of the Washington County Courthouse, Washington, Iowa, at 9 o’clock a.m. for the purpose of holding a public hearing on a proposal to enter into a loan agreement (the “Loan Agreement”) in a principal amount not to exceed $2,420,000 for the purpose of paying costs, to that extent, of (a) constructing improvements to the E911 communications system, including without limitation a E911 tower ($665,000); (b) undertaking secondary road improvements for disaster mitigation ($765,000); (c) undertaking public facility renovations at the McCreedy Building ($105,000); (d) acquiring, equipping and installing sheriff’s department communications equipment and systems improvements ($245,000); (e) acquiring, equipping and installing EMS department security, communications and systems improvements ($75,000); (f) acquiring, equipping and installing communications improvements for other county buildings, including the County Courthouse, including without limitation telephone, switches and cabling ($195,000); (g) acquiring, equipping and installing information technology improvements for other county buildings, including the County Courthouse, including without limitation servers and other computer equipment ($215,000), and (h) acquiring, equipping and constructing a new maintenance building ($155,000).
The Loan Agreement is proposed to be entered into pursuant to authority contained in Sections 331.402, 331.441 and 331.443 of the Code of Iowa and will constitute a general obligation of the County.
At that time and place, oral or written objections or comments may be filed or made to the proposal to enter into the Loan Agreement. After receiving objections or comments, the Board of Supervisors may determine to enter into the Loan Agreement, in which case, the decision will be final unless appealed to the District Court within fifteen (15) days thereafter.
