WASHINGTON
Following a closed session Tuesday, Washington County supervisors formally approved Jordan Wright of Richland for the position of Director of the Washington County Ambulance Services, effective August 8, 2024. Wright, who has been a part-time paramedic with the department for more than a year, now goes to full-time (and possibly more). Wright has from Tuesday’s session and August 5 to formally accepted the position, making him the second director, although indications are he will accept the post that has a $95,000 base plus full benefits.
Ten applications were received for the position; the vote approving Wright was unanimous.
The first director, named in 2020, was dismissed in 2021 in what became a controversial move by the supervisors. A legal settlement was reached early this year, following more than 14 months of paid suspension for Jeremy Peck.
Katrina Altenhofen was later named interim director and her duties likely will conclude by August 8.
