Isaac “Ike” Daniel Yoder passed away peacefully Dec. 12, 2023, at the age of 93,  in Bradenton, Florida. 

He was born to Jonas and Katie Yoder on Oct.25, 1930, in Defiance, Ohio. As a young man, Isaac moved to Kalona, where he met and married Maretta Gingerich. Isaac and Maretta were married for 52 years and together they raised their four daughters. He was a well-known auctioneer in the community and the co-owner of the Grady Stock Yards. In 1978 Isaac and Maretta moved to Bradenton, where they owned and operated a Christian bookstore for many years. After the death of his beloved wife, Maretta, in April 2004, Isaac met and married Jean Laumann of Bradenton. Isaac and Jean shared many wonderful years together and she preceded him in death in April 2023. 

If you knew Isaac, you knew he lived up to the meaning of his name, “one who laughs”.  He always had a smile on his face and was filled with the joy of the Lord. Isaac taught his family to walk in grace, integrity, and boundless love towards everyone. Through his 93 years on this earth, Isaac touched many lives and the memories he created with those who loved him will enrich their lives forever. Goodness and mercy followed him all the days of his life and he walked in the fullness of joy. 

Isaac is survived by his four daughters and their spouses: Faith A’Lee and Nick White of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Julianna and John Brunk of Bradenton, Paula Yoder Clayton of Eagleville, Tennessee, and Carlene and Ron Murphy of Kalona. He was blessed with eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
