The Ladies Auxiliary lunch, in conjunction with the Richmond Sons of Amvets annual Bobby TeBockhorst Horseshoe tournament on Sunday, August 22 raised $830 for school supplies for area elementary schools, according to Wendy Boyse, president of the Ladies Auxiliary.
The Ladies Auxiliary, which provided the lunch, donated their proceeds of $515 from the lunch to the school supplies fund.
At the end of the tournament held at the Amvets Post 107 in Richmond, Rod Stump and Troy Utzinger of Hutzinger Epoxy and Concrete each donated $100 to the winner of the 10-shoe competition. Wendy Boyse won the $200 and she donated the funds in the name of the Ladies Auxiliary to the school supply fund.
“With the funds in the donation box, lunch proceeds and $200 from the special competition, we were able to give $830,” Boyse said.
The money was shared with Mid-Prairie East and West Elementary Schools, Highland Elementary in Riverside and Lone Tree. Boyse noted that the schools especially need donations for earphones.
“The Sons of Amvets and the Ladies Auxiliary, Post 107, would like to thank those who attended and showed their support for the fundraiser,” Boyse said. “We want to especially thank Rod Stump and Troy Hutzinger for their generous donations.”
