The road toward Carroll will begin for second-ranked Mid-Prairie on July 5.
The Golden Hawks, who made it to the state tournament semifinals last year and are ranked No. 2 in Class 2A behind 2022 state runner-up Van Meter, will host River Valley Conference rivals Wilton or Tipton in the District 9 semifinals July 5. The district final is July 8.
Mid-Prairie (21-6) has won its last 10 games, including a doubleheader sweep of Durant on Monday. The Golden Hawks were given an opening-round bye.
Hillcrest Academy, Lone Tree and Highland all begin postseason play July 1.
The Ravens, who are seeded No. 1 and began the season with seven straight wins, will seek its third consecutive victory against Lone Tree in the District 10 quarterfinals at Hillcrest. The winner will face Keota or Pekin in the semifinals July 5. The district title game is set for July 8.
Highland, seeded No. 4 in District 9, will host No. 5 New London on July 1. A win would advance the Huskies to the semifinal round against top-seeded Notre Dame Burlington.
The state tournament for Class 1A and 2A begins July 17 in Carroll.
