Congratulations to the students who are nominated to the Iowa High School Speech Association's All-State Festival, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Iowa State Center in Ames.
The Mid-Prairie IHSSA Large Group Speech Team competed at Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf on Saturday, Feb. 3. At least two of the three judges that evaluated these performances nominated the groups that follow; to be performers, they were nominated by all three judges in their performance center. Only the top 5% of student performers in the IHSSA achieve All-State nominations.
Performing at the festival will be (Ensemble Acting) The Rebound with Haydon Bailey, Logan McClellen, Jeremiah Rempel, and Caroline Schrader, and (Musical Theatre) Aladdin with Haydon Bailey, Jack Greiner, and Jeremiah Rempel.
Also nominated for recognition at the All-State Festival is the Improvisation group Sweet and Spicy, with Jacob Carrillo and Jack Greiner.
The Mid-Prairie Speech Team is coached by Christine Meader and Lisa Helmuth.
