NICHOLS & LONE TREE

The Lone Tree American Legion’s Color Guard started Memorial Day services early at Swank Cemetery. After two more stops, one at the River Junction Cemetery and another at the Iowa River Bridge in Hills, the Color Guard made its way to Nichols Cemetery,.

The Color Guard’s second to last stop came at St. Mary’s Cemetery between Nichols and Lone Tree. The guard performed Memorial Day services before heading to Lone Tree’s American Legion to finish providing Memorial Day services.

After an inside program, the Color Guard made its way outside to lay the Memorial Day wreath before the firing squad shot their final three blanks of the day, concluding their trek around Johnson and Muscatine counties.
