Road construction has closed a stretch of Kiwi Avenue near Kalona until further notice.

Kiwi Avenue southwest of Kalona, just west of Highway 1, closed on Wednesday, Sept. 23, for repairs to a culvert in the road.

The closure stretches for about 1.68 miles, from 155th Street to 170th Street.

At the moment, there is no word on when the road work will be completed and the stretch of Kiwi Avenue between 155th Street and 170th Street will reopen.

A section of Kiwi Avenue had closed the previous week because of flooding. It is now closed again for road work.
