Wellman

If you have a passion for Wellman, are willing to lend a helping hand and would like to organize annual events such as the July 4 celebration, Trunk or Treat and Light the Night, the Wellman Community Club may be for you.

The club recently announced that it is seeking new members. Those who want to learn more about Wellman and become involved in the community are encouraged to attend a meeting.

In a recent Facebook post, the club said that anyone who enjoys organizing, creating and connecting with others may find it to be a good fit.

There is no commitment required to attend a meeting. Those interested can come to a meeting, learn more about the club and decide whether they would like to join without any pressure.

The club’s officers are President Abbi Smit, Vice President Sara Klostermann, Treasurer Nicole Slaubaugh and Secretary Nathan Klostermann.

The club is also always looking for volunteers. Its latest meeting, held Monday, September 14, was described as a zero-commitment meeting for guests interested in learning more.

In July, The News interviewed Smith and Klostermann about the club and the festivities it organizes, including the July 4 celebration. During the interview, club secretary Nathan Klostermann explained how the club raises money to support its events.

"We do fundraising every year, and people can donate directly to the Community Club. Those donations help fund our activities."
