The Hillcrest volleyball team began their season by going on the road to take part in the Keota Volleyball tournament on August 21.
The Ravens won two games, losing only once, to take second place overall at the tournament. Hillcrest defeated English Valleys, 16-21, 21-17, and 15-13 and they defeated Highland, 21-19 and 21-17.
Hillcrest’s lone loss came in the championship match to the host school Keota, falling to the Eagles, 13-21, 21-18, and 15-11.
The top performers at this tournament for Hillcrest include Kylee Statler with 14 kills, three blocks, 25 digs, and six service aces; Malia Yoder with 11 kills, 28 digs, and two service aces; Lydia Beachy with 10 kills and 19 digs; and Claire Withrow with 44 assists.
