From llamas to carriage rides, Lone Tree’s Winterfest offers full day of fun

Winterfest in Lone Tree will be taking place on November 26, from 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. Sponsored by local small businesses and the Lone Tree Chamber of Commerce, this is an event taking place in downtown Lone Tree that the whole family can enjoy during the holiday season.

The festivities kick off at 10 a.m. with a vendor market featuring a wide variety of businesses, including Deeply Rooted Beauty & Boutique, Julie’s Fountain of Flowers, Fabulous Finds Consignment Store, Ayden’s Closet, Kari Ford-Scentsy, Soraya Gem Co, Delightfully Sweet Bakery, Shelia’s Sugar Shop, Lolli Cakes, and Six Seasons T-Shirt Boutique. The vendor market is scheduled to last until 3 pm.

Also, at 10 a.m., there will be an El Gringo Loco Food Truck. Whether you want breakfast or lunch, this food truck has you covered. The food truck will be there until 4 p.m.

Starting at 12 p.m., The Traveling Tapster will be open for business. They will be serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. They offer a wide range of signature drinks based on color scheme or favorite mixed beverages. This mobile bartending service is available for a wide variety of events, from weddings to company retreats. The drinks they provide will be available until 7 p.m.

Beginning at 2 p.m., there will be activities for kids. These activities range from cookie decorating, letters to Santa, creating crafts, and more. All these fun activities for the children will go on until 4 p.m.

Also at 2 p.m. will be Christmas Llamas, live animals dressed in Christmas apparel and filled with holiday cheer.  You may take pictures with them and even pet them.  These animals are sponsored by Julie Chown of Ruhl and Ruhl Realtors. The Christmas Llamas will be at the event until 3 p.m.

Then at 4 p.m., the Town Christmas Tree will be decorated. People are encouraged to bring ornaments to add to the tree. The decorating concludes at 6 p.m.

From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., carriage rides will be offered.  These community-style rides have a large carriage that fits multiple people.  The ride will travel around the town and will last about 10 minutes, with hot cocoa offered to riders.

Finally, at 6 p.m. the Festival of Trees and Soup Supper will take place at the Wellness Center. The festivities will come to an end at 8 p.m.
