The Kalona Area Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its annual banquet for Tuesday, October 20, at the Wellman Parkside Banquet Hall.

The chamber ultimately chose the Wellman YMCA Banquet Hall because the cost falls in the middle of what it has paid for other banquet venues in the past. 

Last year, the annual event was held at the Riverside Casino & Golf Resort. During last year’s banquet, attendees heard from ex officio chamber member Shawn Powell, owner of Southeast Iowa Insurance Services. 

This year’s featured speaker will be chamber member and business coach Iva Bontrager, who will discuss the topic of business burnout.

The banquet will begin with the doors opening at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:15 p.m. Catering for the evening will be provided by Kountry Korner and Golden Delight Bakery.

The cost to attend the banquet is $50 per person. Those who would like to attend as a group may reserve a table of eight for $360.

Attendees should make sure to RSVP by September 25 to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win $25 in Kalona Kash.
