Three Ravens take top five finishes at Central Lee

Hillcrest Academy had three runners finish in the top five at the Central Lee cross country meet last Tuesday.

Marie Yoder finished third in the girls’ race with a time of 22:42, while sophomore Calvin Meller and freshman Troy Yoder came in fourth and fifth for the boys with times of 19:17 and 19:18, respectively.

For the boys, Jaxson Brokaw’s 16th-place finish and Isaac Beachy’s 32nd-place finish marked solid performances that put the Ravens in position for a solid team finish, but an off night for Braeden Hartsock in 44th had Hillcrest finish 4th as a team. It was the third consecutive meet with a different team leader for the Raven boys.

Also running for the Raven boys were Danny Meyer in 44th, Merle Cronquist in 47th, Lucas Beachy in 55th and Paxton Wilson in 57th.

For the girls, Amelia Vigneron finished in 40th with a time of 35:50.
