Larry was born February 20, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa to Harry and Velma Musser.
In his early school years, Larry attended a one-room country school. One of his favorite tales was the walk to and from school, where, according to Larry, he picked a row of corn on the way there and back and walked uphill both ways. He graduated from Iowa City High School in 1958 and enlisted in the Air Force. He served four years and spent time in Korea after the war cleaning up military bases.
Larry married Carmen (Neal) on June 26, 1965. He had two children, Duane and Beth.
He entered the work force at Oral-B Laboratories, starting in the warehouse, eventually promoted as the plant buyer before an early retirement.
Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, card games (euchre), attending Iowa football games, and watching sports. His retirement years were spent gardening at the family farm. His hard work yielded an overabundance of produce, which he shared with friends, neighbors, and anyone who stopped by.
His greatest passion was spending time with his four grandchildren. He was always on the floor playing with toys, cards, puzzles, or whatever the kids’ imagination wanted Grandpa to be, he was in. Countless activities full of smiles and laughter that will never be forgotten.
Larry is survived by his children: Duane (Shannon) and Beth; four grandchildren: Mckenzie (Bryant), Colton, Gracyn and Brielle; two brothers: Richard and John (Janice); and many nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents and his siblings: Dorothy, Harold, Kenneth, Kathryn, Evelyn, Rita; and his best bud Milo.
A very special thanks to the staff at Pioneer Place Memory Care in Lone Tree.
