Crash near Lone Tree leaves motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries

A crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck near Lone Tree left the motorcycle driver with life-threatening injuries on Thursday, August 27. 

The collision occurred at approximately 12:56 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 22 and Wapsi Avenue, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

William Lewis of Blair, Nebraska, was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Highway 22 when the truck collided with a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at the intersection.

The motorcycle driver was transported by ambulance to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities are currently withholding the driver’s identity.

Lewis was not injured in the crash.

The Iowa State Patrol continues to investigate the collision.
