The Eastern Iowa Light & Power Cooperative has announced the recipients of its annual scholarship program, awarding $2,500 scholarships to 20 graduating high school seniors across its service area.
To qualify, students must plan to attend a four-year college or university following graduation.
Among this year’s recipients are three local students: Ava Christofferson of Lone Tree, Owen Knox of Highland, and Jesse Stultz of Mid-Prairie.
Christofferson plans to attend Truman State University, where she will compete on the school’s track and field team.
Knox will attend Iowa State University to pursue a degree in engineering.
Stultz plans to study engineering at University of Iowa.
Eastern Iowa Light & Power Cooperative has awarded scholarships to graduating seniors since 1987.
Over that time, the cooperative has provided 546 scholarships totaling $660,000 to students from 50 different communities throughout its area.
