Folks turned out for the Wellman Food Pantry’s Soup & Chili Cookoff fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 2, making the event a big success. The Food Pantry, which is based out of Asbury United Methodist Church, celebrates 20 years this year; it has grown from serving 13 families to 80-90 households each month. The pantry’s organizers “want to thank everyone, our communities’ churches, businesses, schools, and private donations of food and funds. Without their help, we would not have been able to reach this milestone and appreciate all of their support,” they said.
