PUBLIC NOTICE
The Washington County Board of Supervisors has received a construction permit application for a confinement swine feeding operation, specifically described as follows:
Name of Applicant: J & M Ledger Pork, LLC
Location of the operation: SE ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 10, 78N, R7W, Washington Township.
Type of confinement feeding operation structure proposed: addition of one new 3,000 head deep pit swine finishers confinement building as an expansion to an existing swine confinement facility.
Animal Unit Capacity of the confinement operation after completion of construction: 1,100 animal units (5,000 head of swine finishers)
The application is on file in the office of the Washington County Auditor located in the Washington County Courthouse, 222 W. Main Street, Washington, IA. and is available for public inspection during the weekday hours of 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. on the following days: August 1, 2024, through August 9, 2024.
Written comments may be filed in the office of the Washington County Auditor no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024.
