The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6414 Riverside and its VFW Auxiliary recognized the winners of their essay scholarships following the Memorial Day Services, Monday, May 29, 2023, at the Post Home.
The VFW $1500 scholarship recipients are Kate Hartzler, daughter of Chris and Molly Hartzler, Ainsworth; and Peyton Yeggy, son of Scott and Mandy Yeggy, Riverside.
The VFW Auxiliary $1500 scholarship recipient is Brendan Schnoebelen, son of Mike and Heather Schnoebelen, Riverside.
Following the presentation Kate, Peyton, and Brendan, with their families, were invited to read their winning essays and enjoy lunch with the comrades and members of the VFW, its Auxiliary and guests.
Scholarships are an annual Youth Activities project for graduating seniors from Highland High School or graduating seniors that have family members in the VFW and Auxiliary Post No. 6414 Riverside. Congratulations to these students for their achievements.
