The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6414 Riverside and its VFW Auxiliary announced the winners of their three $1,500 scholarships at the Senior Awards Ceremony at Highland High School Wednesday, May 14. The two VFW scholarship recipients are Taylor Schnoebelen, daughter of Mike and Heather Schnoebelen, and Isaac Thomann, son of Tim and Tina Thomann. The VFW Auxiliary recipient is Katie Herrig, daughter of Brad and Misty Herrig.
Following the Memorial Day Service May 25, the students were invited to read their winning essays and enjoy lunch at the Post Home with their families, members of the VFW, its Auxiliary and guests.
The three scholarships are an annual Youth Activities project for graduating seniors from Highland High School. Congratulations to all for their achievements.
