United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties is partnering with Coral Ridge Mall to support hunger relief. Together, they will be hosting three “Feed Our Need” community food drives targeting three specific age groups in: June (Children), September (Infants), and November (Seniors).
The first “Feed Our Need” food drive will support children who are out of school for the summer. For many children in our community, summer is the hungriest time of year and causes stress about where their next meal will come from. Children can be facing up to 90 days without reliable food. Coral Ridge Mall will house a collection food donation bin located near the mall Visitors Center (between the food court and the carousel). Mall goers may donate items starting Monday, June 6 through Monday, June 20. Suggested food items to donate include: Applesauce Pouches, Canned Pop-Top Soups, Ravioli or Pasta, Easy Mac Cups, Fruit Juice-100%, Fruit Snacks or Cups, Gatorade / Water Bottles, Granola Bars, Instant Oatmeal, Mashed Potato Cups, Meat Sticks (i.e., Slim Jims), Milk-Shelf-Stable, Peanut Butter, Snack Packs -Crackers or Cookies, Kid’s Sunscreen.
A QR Code will also be displayed for cash donations. All donations will be given to local food pantries.
