Trump, Republicans have blind spots

Posted

On a news show recently, Senator Mitt Romney stated, in a generous characterization, that President Trump has a blind spot when it comes to Russia.

It was revealed that the U.S. has been under cyber-attack for months and the attackers have penetrated multiple public and private entities and it may still be ongoing. They allegedly entered the Energy Dept. branch that includes our nuclear arsenal.

This is extremely serious and dangerous. Our intelligence community, Secretary of State Pompeo and Attorney General William Barr have said it was Russia. After dawdling for several days, the President attempted to deflect the charge by trying to blame China.

We still don’t know the nature of Trump’s relationship with Russia because the Mueller investigation was forbidden to look into Trump’s dealings with Russia via Deutsche Bank. With 30 days left in his term Trump is still covering for Russia —why?

Like Trump’s Russia blindness, the Republican party, lock stock and barrel, has a blind spot towards Trump. Senators Grassley and Ernst betrayed their oath of office by failing to hold Trump accountable across the board. When Trump ordered children separated from parents at the Mexican border, in a move pharaoh would be proud of, nary a peep from our patriotic duo, and so on.

Now, however, Trump is hinting at invoking martial law and redoing what were free, fair and decisive elections. Apparently, he is such a sore loser that he is willing to trash our democracy on the way out the door.

It’s time for principled Republicans to put a stop to Trump’s mad charade before someone gets hurt. Please put the country first before Trump, in an adolescent fit of pique, starts a war. Like Trump, Republicans have a blind spot. Why?
