Susan (Embree) Melzow was born Jan. 3, 1956, in Iowa City, the daughter of Harry and Gladys (Netzer) Embree. She graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1974. Susan was a cook at Mid-Prairie High School. She enjoyed raising English bulldogs, spending time with family, being outside, drinking coffee, sharing funny memes and most importantly, loving her sons and grandbabies.
Susan passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, at the age of 65 years.
Susan is survived by three sons: Clint McCain, Wyatt (Sheena) McCain and Andrew Pearson; three grandchildren: Sage, Aviana and Stella; sister: Nancy Plank; nephew: Rick Cobb that was like a brother to her; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Robert Embree; and a sister: Linda Clear.
A celebration of life memorial gathering will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at Stone Wall Brick Oven Pizza-Pizza on the Farm, 3297 320th St., Wellman.
