Don’t wait until the last minute to plan your theme, costumes, and trunk decorations for the 2nd annual Trunk or Treat event in downtown Wellman. The event takes place on Monday, Oct. 31 from 6 – 8 p.m.
“Last year was a great turnout,” said Kelly Litwiller, Wellman City Administrator. “I’m hoping that this year will be large.”
Individuals and local businesses are welcome to participate; simply contact Wellman City Hall to let them know you’re coming. Then on event night, park your vehicle downtown, decorate your trunk, dress up in your favorite costume, and hand out candy to the little ghouls and goblins that haunt the street, if you so desire.
Free pork burgers, courtesy of Washington County Pork Producers, and popcorn, courtesy of Federation Bank, will be served in the downtown mini park.
“When we run out of food, we run out. Last year we did run out,” Litwiller said. “I think we run out almost every year, and we planned for about 400.”
The Wellman Volunteer Fire Department will also set up downtown so that kids can see the fire trucks and ambulance.
Downtown parking spots for trunk participants will not be assigned, so arrive early on event night for best selection. To reserve your trunk spot, call 319-646-2154.
