The second meeting to create a village plan for the Windham in Johnson County will be held Monday, August 29, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Renee’s Roadhouse, 1747 Black Diamond Rd SW. Area residents, property owners and any interested person are welcome to attend the meeting to share ideas and ask questions.
Light refreshments will be provided, and the kitchen will be open for additional food purchases. (Alcoholic beverages will not be available during this special meeting.)
The meeting will focus on the following activities, and document links related to each are provided at this website https://www.johnsoncountyiowa.gov/windham-village-planning for anyone who would like to review the information ahead of time.
--Discuss the draft vision statement and goals, which were prepared by staff based on participants’ comments at the first meeting and input received in writing, by phone or in person.
--Continue the discussion to determine the village boundary. The draft of potential village boundaries for Windham is available at the website.

Following this second meeting and prior to the public hearings to be held by the Planning and Zoning (PZ) Commission and Board of Supervisors (BOS), PDS will provide access to a copy of the draft plan for public review and input. Then, at the PZ Commission and BOS hearings, there will be more opportunities for input.

The Windham village planning process is being guided by PDS at the direction of the County Board of Supervisors. Windham is the ninth of the nine villages in the county to go through a planning process.
