Sara M. Miller, 89, of Kalona, Iowa, passed away at her home on Wednesday evening April 20, 2022.

She was born April 1, 1933, in Kokomo, Ind., to Menno and Susan (Schlabach) Miller. She was a member of the Sharon Bethel Church in rural Kalona.

In her earlier years she did house cleaning and also worked in a local bakery part time. In 1977, she opened a quilt shop at her local Kalona farm, known as Kalona Kountry Kreations.  She retired in early 2000.

Her example of selfless giving was an inspiration to many. She made lots of comforters that are in many many needy homes here and abroad. She was a firm believer that you can’t out give God.

Sara also loved to quilt and gave many lectures on quilts.
Sara is survived by 11 nieces; 19 nephews; and one sister-in-law: Celesta Miller of Goshen, Ind. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; four brothers; and one nephew.
The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to all who helped care for Sara in her last weeks at her home. Everyone is welcome to have lunch with the family at Sharon Bethel Church after the burial at Sharon Bethel Cemetery. God Bless each of you.
