Bouncing back from their second loss of the season, Hillcrest (16-2, SEISC 13-2) scored a dominant 76-48 road conference victory over Louisa-Muscatine (9-10, 6-9) on Jan 31.
The Falcons found themselves trailing after one but battled back to take a one-point lead in the second. Hillcrest did not flinch, ending the quarter on a 20-9 run to take back control of the game at the half.
Hillcrest broke the game open in the third with a 20-6 run to raise the lead to 24 with only the fourth left to play. The Ravens eventually won the game by a margin of 28 and ended seven-points shy of their season high.
Three Ravens reached double digit scoring with Seth Ours dropping a team high 22, Bryce Bailey scoring 17, and Kale Bailey adding 16. It was a great night facilitating the ball for Rowan Miller who dished out a team high 12 assists.
With this win bringing their record to an impressive 16-2, Hillcrest has now earned the most wins for the program since the 2017-18 season, where they won 21 games.
Hillcrest 66, HLV 41
The calendar flipping to February did not stop the winning ways of Hillcrest, as the Ravens (17-2) cruised to a convincing non-conference win at home over HLV (8-9) last Saturday
A strong steady dose of offense by Hillcrest propelled the Ravens to victory as they scored 15 or more points in every quarter. HLV attempted to keep pace, but only putting up seven-points in the third quarter lead to a fourth frame where they trailed by 20.
It was an all around effort on offense for Hillcrest as Seth Ours (17), Kale Bailey (14), Bryce Bailey (12), and Mason Bender (11) all scored in the double figures. Rowan Miller once again disturbed the ball well with a team-high eight assists. Mason Helmuth led the team with eight rebounds.
