The weather on Thursday was finally cooperative for the Hillcrest Academy golf team, which had seen four straight cancellations since it opened the season on April 4.
Back at Blue Top Ridge for the second time this season, the Ravens evened their record at 1-1 with a 200-233 win over Lone Tree.
Meet medalist Jace Rempel led the Ravens with three pars and 43 total strokes, while freshman teammate Liam Schrock was the runner up. Schrock had two pars and a birdie on eight to finish with a 44 in just his second varsity meet.
Sebastian Jacque made par on holes six and eight to lead Lone Tree with a total of 51.
Luke Schrock carded a 55 and Alex Niemeyer shot a 58 to round out the scoring for Hillcrest, while Josiah Beachy was just two strokes back with a 60.
Dominic Graap and Caden Smith finished with scores of 58 and 59 for Lone Tree. Oliver Altenhofen shot a 65 for the Lion varsity, which had just four golfers available on Thursday.
Lone Tree travels to Lousia-Muscatine on Monday and will host Mediapolis at Blue Top Ridge on Thursday, April 28.
The Ravens host Mediapolis on Monday and will be back at the Kalona Golf Club on the following day for a triangular with Keota and English Valleys.
