VFW and Auxiliary to Post No. 6414 Riverside hosted a Quilts of Valor ceremony Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the VFW Post, Riverside, IA. Recipients receiving their quilt were from left to right, Bob Kerf, Lone Tree, John Greenwood, Iowa City, Rich Frank, Riverside, Rodney Waldschmidt, Iowa City, and Larry Rummelhart, Iowa City. A sincere thank you to these Vietnam Veterans for their service to our country. Congratulations for receiving this special recognition.
The Quilts of Valor® Foundation, a non-profit organization, has a mission to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing quilts. Presenter was Bonnie Barnhart assisted by Donna Harms, Hearts & Hands Quilters, Sigourney, IA, who represent the Quilts of Valor, sewed and quilted the five beautiful quilts presented. The VFW comrades and Auxiliary members thank them for their dedication to this mission.
