LONE TREE
The Lone Tree Community School District hosted it's graduation ceremony for the class of 2023-24 on Sunday, May 26.
Both Valedictorian Ethan Bockelman and Mia Bauwen - the graduate with the second highest GPA - spoke at the podium before class sponsor Colene Feldman, a school administrative assistant, gave an emotional speech where she shared stories, spread cheer and laughter while speaking to each student individually.
After speeches concluded, the lights dimmed for a class slideshow.
Students began to line up, preparing to walk the stage, immediately following their class slideshow. Students were met with diplomas and a photo op with School Board President Robert Sladek before moving down the handshake line which consisted of Feldman, Principal Andrew Koshatka, Superintendent Tyler Hotz and the rest of the school board. Students walked down the stage as graduates.
With a flip of the tassel, the graduates were allowed to celebrate, tossing their caps in the air before taking pictures outside, concluding the ceremony.
