A total of 63 people were able to donate blood at the Kalona community Blood drive on Monday, January 10, according to Kalona Optimist Blood drive chairperson Donna Merck.
“That means that a total of 189 people from the area will be able to benefit from the blood donations,” Merck pointed out. ImpactLife, which conducts the blood drive, estimates that three people will benefit from each blood donation.
“The Optimists really appreciate the support of the Kalona community, especially the area Amish, for supporting this blood drive,” Merck said. She also thanks those who volunteered to assist with the blood drive.
