Mid-Prairie school year off to a great start

Posted

We are already three weeks into the school year, which is hard to believe. However, our school year is off to a great start, with help from many people to make that happen.  I’d first like to mention the hard work that comes from the various office staff in the district.  This work is done behind the scenes but is undoubtedly essential.  Everything from proper enrollment paperwork, medical forms, and student schedules, just to mention a few, needs to be ready for the year to start. Our staff makes this look easy as they communicate efficiently and effectively for the betterment of the students and staff.

I would be in error if I didn’t acknowledge the custodial and facilities staff for their tremendous work during the summer to prepare the buildings for staff and students. This year they took on more than usual, but they took it in stride. They would confirm with me weekly that we would be ready. I appreciate their efforts as our buildings looked great.

As you know, transportation plays a considerable role in the success of our district.  Our team does a fabulous job of connecting and communicating with our students and their families.  Communication is hugely beneficial for such a complex challenge as we ensure students arrive to and from school safely.

As I go from building to building daily, I continue to be impressed with the attitudes of both staff and students.  I’ve had the opportunity to visit with many staff, and they feel this is one of the best starts to a school year they have had. But, again, this is due to the ability to work together to make it happen, as so much takes place when the school year starts.

As the school year started, I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work for.  Everyone functions with a “can do” mentality, impacting how our students and staff do business daily.  We know the school year is a marathon, but we are certainly out of the blocks strong.

Thank you, everyone, for your efforts.
