Kalona Mayor Mark Robe announced this week that anyone with a classic car is invited to drive in the Mayor’s second annual Classic Car Cruise on Saturday, June 26, starting at 5 p.m.

The Cruise of classic vehicles will start at the Sinclair Tractor parking lot and travel north on 14th Street to J Avenue then travel west along the standard route for cruises and tractorcade established by the City Council.

This year the Mayor’s Cruise will end at the KCTC grassy lot at the corner of 7th and B Avenue in Downtown Kalona. Cars will be on display after the cruise and a food truck will be available, according to Robe.

The Classic Chassy Cruisers of Iowa City and Corn Country Cruisers of Washington are helping with the cruise. Kalona Optimists are also assisting. Anyone else who wants to join the ride should report to the Sinclair tractor lot at 14th and Highway 22 between 4 and 5 p.m.

“I want to thank Sinclair Tractor, Kalona Optimist, Corn Co. Cruisers, Classy Chassy Cruisers, Kalona Volunteer Fire Dept., Washington County Sherriff Dept., Country Cookin, KCTC, The News, Kalona Chamber of Commerce, The City of Kalona for their help in making this year’s classic car cruise possible,” said Mayor Robe.
