Mangold announces run for Recorder

Posted

Teresa Mangold announced her candidacy for Washington County Recorder on Saturday, March 12, at the Washington County Republican Convention.   She will be running as a Republican.

Mangold would like to thank retiring County Recorder Jo Greiner for her years of service to the county.

Mangold currently works for the Iowa DNR Environmental Services in Washington that serves a 16-county region in the southeast portion of the state.  She feels that her 15 years of experience in state government in addition to her experiences in prior employment make her well qualified for the duties and responsibilities of the office of county recorder.

Mangold was born in Washington and raised on a farm outside of Brighton, graduating Washington High School in 1986.  She has lived in various parts of Washington County for the bulk of her life ranging from Brighton to Kalona.  She currently resides north of Washington with her husband, Adam, and they have two grown children, Megan and Mackenzie.

She currently serves as treasurer for Hawkeye Cans for Cancer.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, refurbishing furniture, and playing golf and pickle ball.

Mangold said she is ready for a new challenge and is looking forward to learning  the duties of county recorder.

Mangold’s husband formerly served as a Washington county supervisor.  Adam was selected as a delegate and Teresa was chosen is an alternate delegate at the county convention for the Republican district convention in Iowa City on April 9.
