The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk Marching Band placed first in class 2A at the 2021 Muskie Marching Invitational at Muscatine High School on Saturday, October 9.
The band is directed under Mr. David Kunz. The drum majors are Mid-Prairie seniors Olivia Caskey, Zoe Fisher, and junior Harlan Tandy.
The Golden Hawk Marching Band performed their show; The “Piano Man: The Music of Billy Joel ‘’, on Saturday. The setlist included songs: “We Didn’t Start the Fire”, “Piano Man”, “My Life”, “Only the Good Die Young”, “Air Dublinesque”, and “Just the Way You Are”.
“I am very proud of the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk Marching Band’s performance at the Muscatine Marching Invitational on Saturday,” said Kunz. “I want to thank my students for their dedication to marching band at Mid-Prairie High School and thank you to all of the support of their parents and the Mid-Prairie Fine Arts Boosters.”
The marching band has performed at each Mid-Prairie High School home football game half-time show this past month in preparation for their future competitions.
