Lorack perfect in 19-0 win at Keota

Arlie Lorack was perfect on the mound and at the plate on Tuesday during a 19-0 Lone Tree win at Keota.

The junior pitcher retired all nine batters that she faced and struck out five during the three-inning game.

Offensively, she reached base in all four plate appearances. Lorack was hit by a pitch and drew a walk during a 10-run first inning. She hit a three-run homer in the second and had an RBI single in the third.

Skyler Smith went 3-3 with three RBIs, while Avery Grover and Alex Dautremont each had a hit and drove in three runs as well.

Lone Tree had five batters hit by a pitch, including Dautremont, who was hit twice.

Chloe Mills had two hits and a walk, scoring twice. Hogan Eden had a hit and scored three runs. Ellen Carow had a hit and scored twice.

“We hit the ball very well tonight,” Lone Tree coach Reid Kaalberg said. “When we face slower pitching, sometimes it can be hard for us to adjust, but I thought our lineup top to bottom did a great job.”

Lone Tree stole nine bases and is 16-16 on the season.

“On the bases we were constantly looking at taking the next base, and that helps us a lot,” Kaalberg said.

“Kayleigh Rundlett led us with three stolen bases, and she’s the table setter for this offense so when she gets on we are always looking to get her in scoring position for the rest of our lineup.”

Rundelett led off the game by reaching base on a dropped third strike. By the time Keota successfully recorded the game’s first out, nine batters had reached base, giving Lone Tree an 8-0 lead.
