1. Call to Order: Yedlik 6:36 PM
2. Roll Call: Joel Yedlik, Alex Ogren, Michael Hotz, Gordon Viers, Robert Sladek (Zoom).
3. Mission Statement: Read by Hotz
In partnership with the community, Lone Tree Community School will develop productive, lifelong learners whose goals are academic, vocational and social success.
4. Old Business: None
5. Approval of Agenda: Viers motioned to approve the agenda, Ogren seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
6. Communication from the Public: None
7. Principal’s Reports:
a. MS/HS Principal Koshatka reported on good news/celebrations, upcoming events, academic excellence, safety and environment referrals, PLC opportunity next year for staff, classified employee evaluation procedures, Xello, and math curriculum.
b. Elementary Principal Jacque reported on good news/celebrations, upcoming events, Voluntary preschool required survey results, safety and environment referrals, FAST testing assessment data, Jumpstart Summer Reading Program, 2023-2024 specials schedule, committee overview 2023-2024, leadership team recommendations, and catering form.
8. Approval of Consent Items:
a. Board Minutes: Hotz motioned to approve the board minutes. Viers seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
b. Board Bills: Viers motioned to approve board bills, Ogren seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
c. Personnel: Viers motioned to approve personnel report items, Hotz seconded. Motion carried 5-0
i. Hires: Kelsi Kruse-Dance Team Sponsor, Olivia Halin-5th Grade, Connor LaPage-Instrumental Music, Joe Donovan-Activities Director, Rachel Garren-High School Spanish, TLC Positions: Katherine Leibold-Lead Teacher, Joel Herman-Lead Teacher, Rhonda Lacina-Lead Teacher, Kay Viner-Lead Teacher, Donda Nebergall-Lead Teacher, Ryan Shelman-MTSS Leader, Tanya McCarty-Instructional Coach, Jessica Howard-Mentor Teacher, Hannah McDowell-Lead Mentor Teacher, and Mick Dickinson-Mentor Teacher, Christina Magruder-Co-Junior Class Sponsor, Kelli Floyd-Co-Junior Class Sponsor

9. Financial Report: SBO Tharp presented April 2023 financial reports.
10. Educational Presentation:
a. Mr. Shelman reported on the Strength and Conditioning program.
11. New Business:
a. Discussion ESSA & IDEA-DA from GW AEA: Tina Hoffman and Ann Langenfeld from GrantWood AEA were in attendance to provide information and answer questions in regards to the District’s plan for Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Differentiated Accountability (DA).
b. Discussion/Approval Sale of Staff Computers: Viers motioned to approve only selling staff computers to a recycler, motion died due to lack of second. Hotz motioned to approve the sale of computers back to staff, Ogren seconded. Motion failed 0-5.
c. Discussion/Approval Technology Replacement Rotation:
Jason Marshall from GrantWood AEA presented preliminary replacement schedules and estimated costs. Hotz motioned to table this agenda item until June, motion died due to lack of second. The Board will discuss further at the June Board Workshop.
d. Discussion/Approval Issuing Administrative Contracts:
Viers motioned to approve issuing Administrative contracts for 2023-2024, Hotz seconded. Motion carried 5-0
e. Discussion/Approval Class of 2023 Graduating Class: Ogren motioned to approve the Class of 2023 graduating class list pending all graduation requirements are met, Hotz seconded. Motion carried 4-0-1. Viers abstained.
12. Superintendent’s Report: Superintendent DeVore reported on the status of roof bids, May Board Appreciation Month, and extended a thank-you to the Board of Directors, staff, students, families, and the community of Lone Tree.
13. Adjourn: Viers motioned to adjourn the meeting, Hotz seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
