Lone Tree City Council considers wastewater treatment plan

Posted

Mayor Spilman called to order at 5:30 p.m. the regular meeting of the Lone Tree City Council at Lone Tree City Hall, with Ford, Dix, Swinton, and Ronan present.

The Wastewater Treatment plan was discussed and everything from their reports say that everything is moving along well. Chad McCleary, of Ion Environmental Solutions, says that they have ordered the things that they need for daily and weekly testing and routine maintenance, and that the grit removal pump has been installed and is now in service.

Mayor Spilman updated the council that their intended hire for the senior position is still going through training, and once that person is trained then they will hire. There is still the possibility that the person will not pass all the certifications, so they do not want to make a mistake by hiring someone that will then fail the certifications.

Then the meeting moved on to the 2nd reading Ordinance 2022 which was quickly motioned and carried.

Then, a gentleman talked to the council expressing the great need for them to look at the drainage system on his street. He complained of constant flooding in his house and driveway for the past 2-3 years, and the council agreed to send some of its members out to take a look at his situation.

The next city council meeting will be held on September 7, at 5:30 p.m.
