Larry Lee Cox Sr. was born Jan. 17, 1939, in Columbus Junction, the son of Vane and Myrtle (Thomas) Cox. He graduated from St. Patrick High School in Columbus Junction. On June 7, 1958, he was united in marriage to Linda Woodruff. They resided in many states throughout the country, returning to Iowa to settle in Kalona for the last 28 years. He enjoyed camping, golfing, playing cards, being a jokester, entertaining friends and loving his family. He spent many years working in the printing industry and then was a car salesman for Hargrave McEleney. Larry passed away Friday July 23, 2021, at Pleasantview Home in Kalona at the age of 82.
Larry is survived by his brother: Edwin Cox; and four children: Sherry Margelot of East Nassau, New York, Tamora Cox of Dubuque, Laura (Tom) Moss of Saratoga Springs, New York, and Larry (Bob Granger) Cox Jr. of Sacramento, California; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He is preceded by his parents; wife of 63 years: Linda; and brothers: Kenneth, Melvin, Bill and Cecil.
A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the Columbus City Cemetery, in Columbus Junction. The graveside service will be on our Facebook page, live streamed. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time. A general memorial fund has been established.
