Join us for our annual Kalona Days celebration in the heart of downtown Kalona. With a focus on local culture and family fun, this day is full of activities for all ages.
NEW - Friday evening businesses will stay open late, Night Market vendors will have homemade items available. Enjoy free horse-drawn wagon rides, music, and a movie on the lawn at Kalona Public Library.
Saturday morning kicks off with our annual Fun Run, including a 1 mile and 5K race. Participants receive a t-shirt and prizes. After the races our sidewalks line up with vendors for our Farmers Market, carrying baked goods, produce, and handmade items. Meanwhile, kids can compete in the Pedal Pull, bakers compete in a pie baking contest, and everyone gets a chance to try the pies in the pie auction at noon.
Throughout the day, volleyball players will compete indoors at the YMCA. Register your team for a chance to win cash prizes, or take a seat and watch the games from the air conditioned bleachers.
In the afternoon cool off at the Kalona City Pool or with water activities provided by Kalona Fire Department or have fun with bubbles for all ages at the library.
Then pull up a chair on our sidewalks and watch the parade with floats from all around Washington County. Afterwards, relax down the street in the grass lot with live music, pony rides, face painting, barrel rides, and food vendors from the surrounding area.
